Training on Silage Production for Member of Mojosongo Cooperative, to Ensure Sustainable Feed Resources

Feed is a crucial element in livestock farming; adequate feed intake and nutritional content ensure that livestock remain healthy and possess strong immunity. To enhance the ability of dairy farmers to provide nutritious feed for their cattle, the IndoDairy Team conducted silage processing training for member of KUD Mojosongo. This activity took place in May 2026.

The primary objective of silage production was to maximize the preservation of nutrients found in forage or other livestock feed materials, and it can be used for feed resources especially during dry season. Dian Wahyu Harjanti, the project leader, stated that this activity supports the sustainable supply of feed resources and the economic viability of dairy farming operations.

Meanwhile, Siwi Gayatri—IndoDairy project member and Head of the Master’s Program in Agribusiness at UNDIP—added that the project’s outputs could facilitate the integration of research and community service activities into the academic curriculum. This includes incorporation into specific courses, the enhancement of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) teaching methods, and the involvement of students in completing their master’s theses
